I was flicking through some old photos, and found these. They go back a while to Stacey and James' wedding. Such perfect light. Photo tip: the little gap of time after the sun sets is a really good time to take pictures of people. It's because they don't have harsh light or shadows on their faces, but it's still just light enough for the photo to come out ok, and also its usually a warm, rosy light that is soft and flattering. No people in these pics because the wedding party were off having their official photos done and the guests were inside drinking champagne. But I sneaked out to watch the birds and see the sun set.

I don't usually gush much about my own photos, or much at all really, but I have to say I really like these. I am really pleased at how they turned out. They are some of my favourite pictures of recent times. And I can't really think of any other way to express that!

P.S. Among other interesting things, Sarah makes great collages and sometimes puts them on the internet. In her words "I glue paper together and post really stupid crap." Have a look here.

As promised, here are some photos of my friend Susannah, and her horse Shadow. You can see why it was hard to choose, they were both such good looking models! I really enjoyed taking these photos. To be honest, horses make me a bit nervous, well maybe not anymore because Shadow was so friendly. He is only young, and found it hard to stand still for long - well who would blame him? But he coped very well. I enjoyed seeing how much they are buddies. Having only ever been around dogs, I did not know horses and humans could get on in the same way. So thank you both of you for being great models and letting me take your photo!

State Theatre at night. Would probably look better if someone remembered to turn all the lights on, not just some (see third photo, left hand side - half the building was in the dark). Dramatic effect perhaps.

Scenes from Fringe World.

Words are hard to come by at the moment. I don't have a lot to say. The news for my friend and her hubby, who I mentioned in the last post, has gone from bad to worse, to worst. But there's nothing I can say to make sense of it, or even remotely put it in perspective. So I'll just focus on the pictures.
